Project: University #5 - Interview (HSPS at Cambridge)

Having returned from the interviews at Cambridge for Human, Social and Political Sciences course, it is now time to give an overview about how it was, who were the other applicants and what exactly happened during the interviews. First, I can reassure that it was not as bad as somebody might think and the whole process really was lots of fun. Second, I feel much more confident coming back from there and whatever happens, the experience has been great.

Debating: Two Tournaments, Two Formats, Two Countries

Good evening my dear readers!

It has been another three weeks since my previous post and I have decided to start writing about yet another topic on my blog. I will of course continue writing about my travelling experiences and the process of applying to the universities, but starting from now, I will also take up the topic of debating, which has been my hobby for three years. I will start writing about different tournaments that I have been a participant in and maybe I will also add just a little bit about different cases.

In the last couple of weeks, I have been a participant in two different tournaments, one in the format of Karl Popper, the other in the format of British Parliament and now I will turn towards writing more about those experiences. If You have not debated before, then maybe now You will feel more like trying it out and if You have, then I think You will still find some interesting thoughts that may be interesting for You.

Project: University #4 - Getting the first response

It has been three weeks since my last post and there has been some response to my attempts to get into an university in Great Britain. As I already might have mentioned, then Cambridge requested that I would send them some certain documents and an essay in English. In addition, some other universities have made some requests and one of them has moved further. Other than the university application process, I also travelled to Germany few weeks ago to visit the school there that has some close relations with Sütevaka.

Project: University #3 - Sending SAQ away

Not much has changed since my last post, where I said, I sent my UCAS application away. As I already mentioned, Cambridge sent me a request to fill their SAQ form, where they want to get some extra information about me, my school work and my reasons why I want to go to university (more accurately, my reasons why to go to Cambridge). That has been done by now and also all of the universities have replied to my application.

Project: University #2 - Sending UCAS away

In my last post, I mentioned that if you want to apply for medicine or to Oxbridge, the deadline is 15th of October and therefore lately I have had some busy times in order to perfect my UCAS application, while also handling school-work and just trying to have fun. As of yesterday afternoon, I sent my UCAS application out, so a stone has dropped in my heart.

Project: University #1 - Filling UCAS Application

As you might have noticed, then the plan of writing a post every Sunday, did not really work out. There are several reasons for that, including my quite fast-paced life and my last project of applying to university, which in the matter of fact, takes more time than I would have ever thought.

In any case, after spending lots of time online, trying to find information about applying, while also writing my Personal Statement, I started to think that maybe some other people would be interested to read about the process. Therefore, I am launching a new project on my blog, which as you might have noticed, is called "Project: University".

This time I have been staying in the counrtyside of England, although I have still stayed in towns but the people here consider them as villages comparing it to London and elsewhere. week #10 - Project: One Europe to Work for the Money

Good evening to all of you - my family, friends, acquaintances, random people and unknown beings! Tony left Estonia this Monday and as I do not have school at the moment, then I now had lots of free time this week, which I tried to use for reading, watching films, meeting up with friends and other things I was not really able to do in the past few weeks. As I am going to this little Europe-trip, already on this Wednesday, I was also doing the last-minute scheduling and other things, I had not yet done. Also, I have to say that due to my forthcoming travelling, I will not be posting any blog posts on any certain time until I get back to Estonia, although I will try to make little posts of all the towns I stop in. / Tony naases tagasi oma koju sel esmaspäeval, mis tähendab, et kuna pole hetkel ka kooli, tekkis mu hetkel korraga väga palju vaba aega, mida ma sain see nädal kasutada selleks, et üle pika aja korralikult lugeda, filme vaadata, sõpradega olla ning teha mitmeid teisi asju, mida ma polnud saanud eelnevate nädalate jooksul teha. Kuna ma olen juba sellel kolmapäeval lahkumas oma väiksele Euroopa-ringreisile, siis olen selle nädala jooksul teinud ka viimaseid plaane jms seoses selle reisiga. Samuti mainin juba ette, et seoses oma tuleva reisiga ei postita ma kuni Eestisse jõudmiseni enam ühtegi postitust mingitel kindlatel aegadel, vaid püüan lihtsalt iga linna kohta, kus ma peatun, kirjutada midagi lühidat, kui hakkan sealt lahkuma..

week #9 - Driving Tony back to Candyland...

As some of you already know, it was the last week that Tony, my exchange student from Taiwan, was living with my family, which meant that we had to show to him as much of the things, we had not yet shown to him, as possible - that means we constantly did some fun things together, just to make Tony's stay re-memorable for him and this is also the reason why I am a day behind my schedule of blog posting. Thankfully I still had some time for myself, which is also great. / Nagu mõned teist juba teavad, siis eelmine nädal oli Tony, minu Taiwanist pärit vahetusõpilase viimane nädal, kus ta elas meie peres, mis tähendas, et me pidime talle näitama võimalikult palju neid asju, mis olid seni veel näitamata - see tähendab, et me tegime pidevalt koos erinevaid lõbusaid asju, lihtsalt selleks, et muuta Tony siin olekut temale võimalikult meeldejäävaks ning see on ka põhjus, mis ma olen hetkel ühe päeva oma blogi graafikust maast. Õnneks oli mul siiski aega ka selleks, et teha omi asju, mis oli samuti suurepärane.

The whole week has been really fantastic and full of many great things - first part of the week mostly contained chilling around with Tony, my exchange student from Taiwan, and this weekend we went to Riga with my parents. / Terve see nädal on olnud väga fantastiline ja täis mitmeid erilisi asju - nädala esimesel poolel olime lihtsalt koos Tonyga, mu vahetusõpilasega Taiwanist, ning nädalavahetusel käisime vanematega Riias.

Week #1 - Rere_restart!

Hi friends and all the other people, who have ended up here due to their wandering! / Tere sõbrad ja muidu tuttavad!

Almost one and a half month ago I promised to take up blogging again, but then I failed to live up to my promise due to some quite interesting times in my life. Now I will write about those times, which (un)fortunately have once again changed by today. / Kirjutan taaskord üle pika aja kõigest sellest, mis on viimase kuu aja jooksul juhtunud.

There has also been a change made in my blog. First I changed my background, but even more importantly I decided to make English the primary language in this blog. Yes, I will still keep writing in Estonian too, so my grandparents and other friends, unable to understand English, could read it too, but I will not translate all the posts into Estonian and if at all, then I will only try to make summaries of the English texts. / On toimunud pisikene muudatus ning edaspidi kirjutan ma vaid inglise keeles, kuid lisan alati alla lõppu ka eesti keelse kokkuvõtte, et ka mu vanavanemad saaksid lugeda mu tegemistest,

Aa, ja ma ei hakka tegema kokkuvõtet sellest, millega üldiselt tegelen, vaid lasen teil ajapikku aimu saada, mille kõigega ma hetkel oma käed sidunud olen.

I decided to retry blogging a bit more actively, but due to my quite fast lifestyle, I will only try to make weekly summaries and will most likely have less detailed texts than the posts that you might find from the past, although I believe you will more likely appreciate it.
