Welcome!/Tere Tulemast!

In this blog, I mostly write in English, although when I write about things that may also be important for my grandparents, then I also translate my posts into Estonian.

Käesolev blogi on enamjaolt kirjutatud inglise keeles, kuid kirjutised, mis on mõeldud ka vanavanematele lugemiseks, on tõlgitud ka eesti keelde.

week #6 - Tony, Riga and other nice things...

Good evening to all the people reading this post at this very moment! / Tere õhtust kõigile teile, kes te hetkel seda blogi lugemas!

The whole week has been really fantastic and full of many great things - first part of the week mostly contained chilling around with Tony, my exchange student from Taiwan, and this weekend we went to Riga with my parents. / Terve see nädal on olnud väga fantastiline ja täis mitmeid erilisi asju - nädala esimesel poolel olime lihtsalt koos Tonyga, mu vahetusõpilasega Taiwanist, ning nädalavahetusel käisime vanematega Riias.

At the moment, just enjoy the ride and read! / Hetkel nautige sõitu ja lugege!

Films and TV-shows

I am almost getting through the Fringe series, which is still really great and just getting better and better. Other than Fringe, I also managed to watch three films this week. First I watched the movie "Ghost Rider - Spirit of Vengeance", which I had really great hopes for, as I really liked the first movie, but this movie was just a pure disappointment, as the plot was just poor and the film only lasted for one and a half hour - really, I did not enjoy it and I will not recommend it.

The second movie that we went to cinema to watch with Tony was "American Reunion", which was another sequel in the American Pie movie-series, this time, talking about the old class making a reunion. This was a really good and funny movie, almost living up to the old, good American Pie movies (not like the last ones). As most of you can imagine, then nothing good can come out, when the old party-loving friends get together to make another party-weekend, just like in the old days - and really, nothing good comes out of it! Therefore, when you have a bit too much time, then I do recommend watching this movie, as it really lets you relax and get a good laugh. I will also include a trailer for the movie.

And the third movie that we went to see, was "The Dictator", which was just fantastic. First of all, what else can you even imagine from Sacha Baron Cohen, who is just an amazing actor. Secondly the humour in the movie, even if in some places it was a bit too rude, then mostly it was just perfect. I especially loved it how the movie tried and succeeded to mock the American dream, the democracy, therefore I saw that this movie wanted to make a point, which at least for me it did. All in all, I really do recommend this movie and not just because I am not completely in favour of democracy, as it is today, but just as this movie had a great point to be made and it also made me laugh a lot! I also include the trailer for that movie.

Tony's first week in Estonia

Tony has been to school with me, although he did not enjoy it that much, mostly because he just did not understand what the teachers were talking about, although he seemed to like English class and also Mathematics class. Other than that, he also seemed to like and get along with the people in our school, especially in my class, performing many songs on his two instruments (I will add the videos of those pieces of music just below) and also giving a half-an-hour talk to tenth graders about Taiwan.

Other than school, we have also been to different places to eat in Pärnu and one day, he made me the most delicious noodle-soup that I have ever tasted. He has also been to the churches, that he really started to like and also to the museum of Pärnu and other places. We have also been to roller-skating, which he really seemed to like. On Friday, he also visited a birthday-party, where he also made friends quickly and what he seemed to like a lot. All in all, it has been a really nice week with him and he really is a great, open-minded, friendly guy.

On other notes

The school is just about to be finished - we have taken all the tests, improved most of the bad marks (on Monday, I will improve my last one in P.E.) and I have also taken the last exams in English and Music, therefore now I just need to take the exam in Literature on Tuesday and then the eleventh grade is finally finished and the summer may start.

There are also some really nice people, I have started to build new relationships with and I am really enjoying their accompany, as they all seem nice, interesting, smart and just fantastic.

This weekend, I was in Riga to a great business seminar, which gave me lots of new thoughts and maybe the most important thing was that it gave me lots of motivation, since my parents were recognized as something really great, which made me think that I also want it.

Eesti keelne kokkuvõte

* Sellel nädalal vaatasin kolme filmi: Kummitusrattur: kättemaksu hing (Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance); Ameerika kokkutulek (American Reunion) ja Diktaator (the Dictator).

---

And, as it is already two o clock, then that's all! / Ja see on kõik!

Best regards! / Parimate soovidega!
