Good evening to all of you, that have gathered over here today to see through my blog once again and read about the previous week in my life! / Tere õhtust kõigile, kes te olete täna kogunenud siia, et taaskord vaadata mu blogi ja lugeda sellest, mis toimus eelneva nädala jooksul minu elus!
As some of you already know, it was the last week that Tony, my exchange student from Taiwan, was living with my family, which meant that we had to show to him as much of the things, we had not yet shown to him, as possible - that means we constantly did some fun things together, just to make Tony's stay re-memorable for him and this is also the reason why I am a day behind my schedule of blog posting. Thankfully I still had some time for myself, which is also great.
But now, just buckle up and enjoy this post! / Head lugemist!
Films and TV-shows
This week I had some time to watch some episodes of the series that I had not been watching for the last couple of weeks, e.g. "Avengers - Earth's Mightiest Heroes". Other than that, I also took up another series to watch - it is called "Person of Interest". Yet again it is directed by J. J. Abrams, who is just a great director, when it comes to films and TV-shows and he was also the main reason why this time I took up a new series to watch. It is about the life in New York, ten years after the 9/11, telling a story how the government has built a system to spy on all the people in United States of America, to prevent the future terrorism attacks. The system is constantly gathering information via cameras, phones, mails etc and from this information it picks up all the signs of people, who might do some violent crimes in the future - from there, the government gets all the information about massive attacks and the rest of the info is just destroyed. But now there is a team of a genius billionaire and a super-ex-agent, that are together using the information that the government does not care of, so they could prevent different crimes by themselves. I really do like this TV-show and I do recommend you watching it, if you like action, because you will find loads of action from there.
I also had some time to end up in a cinema twice this week. First I had the chance to go to Coca-Cola Plaza to watch the film "Men in Black III", which did not have the best plot, but I do have to say that this film was one of the best I have seen this year. Mainly because of the actors in the film and also the effects that they used in this film. It also gave some information about why the agents of MIB were like the were and it just was a good film to watch - nothing too special, but a quite good film to watch, when you need to relax a bit. So I do recommend it!
The other film was "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted", which I went to see with my brother - I could see that he really loved it and truly, this film had lots of good humour in it, so it made me laugh out loud a couple of times, which is not something every film could do. Other than the fact that it was really funny and even had a quite fine plot, it also had another good thing in it. At least in my case I learned something - when the first Madagascar film told us that "do not try to get away from home, because you will be going to miss it", then this one had another point to be made. The point that I could read out from the movie was something like, "when you already go away from your home, then when you get back to it, you will probably see that this is not the same place you left". All-in-all this movie was a quite good one and when ever you need to get a good laugh, I do recommend you watching it.
Tony's fourth and the last week in Estonia
On this Monday morning Tony and I finally managed to go to the Rotary club, where there were different guys doing different speeches about Finland, Volleyball and even the war in Afghanistan, also Tony had the chance to play two songs to the Rotarians and exchange the flags of different Rotary clubs. The food in Ammende Villa was also quite good and it did not even bother me that much that we did not have too big portions of it to eat. Later we also went to the graduation of the Ülejõe gymnasium ninth graders, where I met up with Kristin and one of her friend. Later we gave flowers to different friends of ours and I also managed to give away my bag full of one hundred and eight white rose buds to one of the girls there. In the evening we just chilled, played chess and sat back.
On Tuesday, we went to Tartu, where Tony gave a fifteen minute concert in Tartu Jaani Church, which I also took on a film and posted in youtube for everybody to watch. In the concert, Tony played two instruments of his - Chinese Bamboo Flute and Chinese Calabash Flute and the concert itself was a huge success. Later we met one of my friends from Tartu, Kristjan and Tony also managed to make friends with a guy called Peter, that had spent a year in China and had even been to Taiwan. In the evening, we went back to Pärnu, where Tony went to home and I joined my parents at this business gathering.
On Wednesday, we first slept in long and then we went to the beach, where Tony and I met up with Anette and we were tanning there for three hours or so, which meant that we completely burnt our backs :P. This was also the only real thing we did on that day as we just went shopping and ate a bit, in the evening,
On Thursday, Tony and I went to Tallinn, where Tony finally managed to get his guided free Tallinn Tour and he got to go to the Estonian History museum, while I was just reading one good book and drinking some drinks, while also observing different people around me. Later we met up with Emma and Tony's new friend, Peter from Tartu and we just showed Tony around until we finally landed in one cafe, where we met very many different nice people, who were all friends of Emma or Peter. Before going home, we also went to eat my favourite pasta, Arrabiata, in an Italian restaurant Vapiano.
On Friday, Tony just managed to go to Riga, all by himself.
On Saturday, we were just trying to celebrate the Midsummer Festival, when we just ended up with my parents friend, where we just made a barbecue and chilled around.
On Sunday, Tony was packing a lot, but later we also went out for our last drinks in Estonia for a while.
And on the next Monday, today, we took Tony to the ferry, from where he went on to Helsinki and to his home flight.
On other notes
This week I was a driver for my family a couple of times - drove back from Tallinn twice and had to be a sober driver for my parents and their friends another two times.
Today my father also came out with an idea to buy me one BMW (I still have to pay half of the price).
Finally I finished my first part of the Pimsleur German Language program via what I am trying to learn how to speak in German and it really is helping.
I have also been doing the last necessary steps for the Europe trip I will be doing the next week.
Eesti keelne kokkuvõte
* Sel nädalal vaatasin paari osa sarjast "Avengers - Earth's mightiest heroes" ning alustasin Huvi all oleva inimese ("Person of Interest") vaatamist. Nägin ka kahte filmi - Mehed mustas 3 ("Men in Black III") ja Madagaskar 3 (Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted").
