Good afternoon to all of you, that are still here, reading this blog and the adventures of past week in my life! / Tere parastlounat kõigile, kes te olete ikka veel siin, lugemas minu blogi viimase nadala seiklustest!
I was supposed to write the blog after every town I stayed at but it just happened that I did not find a perfect time for that until now, when I write about all the last four towns and cities I have been to. / Ma pidin kirjutama blogi kull parast igat linnast lahkumist, kuid kuna ma selleks perfektset aega ei leidnud, kuni tanaseni, siis kirjutan nuud koigist linnastest, kus ma kainud olen, korraga.
Have fun reading this post! / Head lugemist!
Different festivals in Europe!
I had not planned it, but it just happened that in the last four towns, where I stayed at, they all had some kind of festivals, while I was there. In Gent, they had their annual culture festival, where they had many live concerts, some plays, parties all over the town and just loads of people - so on both of the evenings that I was staying with David in Gent, we went to explore that festival (all-in-all it lasts for ten days in a row) and we met some really great people with whom we just talked through the night, sharing different ideas, and we just had a lot of fun.
When I arrived to Brussels, I also did not have a clue about what is happening there but I just had a host for a night, who was at the same time hosting a Mexican boy, who was also travelling around Europe, after a year of studying here and before getting back to his home country. With Patrick, our host, we went to eat dinner and he just showed some of his favourite places in the town and afterwards sent us to one of the squares where they had a concert, as the next day was Belgium Independence day. In the next day, I had to find myself a new host but until that I was just seeing what was happening around the town. In the evening, there was a CouchSurfing meeting, where we went to see the fireworks and then 30 or 40 of us went to one Norwegian guy's apartment where we just socialised - there was also another girl from Estonia, that I talked to for a quite long time and in the end I found myself a host as well.
After arriving to Tilburg in the evening, I saw that they had a fare or something there but on that night I just went to see the new Batman movie, which was in some parts really depressive but at the same time, it was excellent and again gave me some ideas. Later on, still without a host, I went to one pub, which was closed but the workers were having their after work beers and one of the guys from there was helping me to get to a hostel, until he realised that I could just stay at his place and so I did. In the next day, they had a Pink Day in Tilburg and other than that, I also met Ben and some of his students again with whom we spent most of the day (and I got a free lunch as well, because they had lost one of their participants - they had some kind of a youth exchange there).
On other notes
In the last week, I did visit some other universities, that really did not appeal to me, therefore it is quite sure that Cambridge is still my favourite, although we will see what Leiden brings to us.
On one night, my host, Rut in a nearby "village" with 40'000 people, took me to Amsterdam to show me the city and the red light district, which was different but I would not say that it was anything really impressive. Maybe it was because we were there on a Monday, when nothing really happened.
Finally in the Netherlands, we managed to get sun, so on Tuesday I finally got to wear shorts and go to beach, where I almost burnt myself again, because once again I fell a sleep in beach. But other that that, the beach was really nice and with hot soft sand - and afterwards the lunch in one beach club was amazing.
All in all, this week has been quite easygoing and just resting but now, as I arrived to Leiden, we are going to work hard until the evening of Saturday.

Now I am already in Leiden, a town in the Netherlands! / Nuud olen ma juba Leidenis, uhes Hollandi vanimas ulikooli linnas!
Best regards! / Parimate soovidega!
Is there some link that explains museums and red light districts both closing on Mondays?
